Trip Details

Day 1: Cusco - Km 82- Wayllabamba

Hiking the legendary Inca Trail, the most famous way to get to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu, will be an experience you'll never forget. This four-day trip takes you through the Andes, cloud forests, and ancient Inca ruins hidden in the mountains. It includes nature, history, archaeology, and living culture.

Distance: 12 km; Time: 5 to 6 hours

The final height was 3,000 meters above sea level.

  • In the early morning, you will be picked up at your hotel in Cusco and taken to Km 82 (Piskacucho), where the trek begins.
  • A gentle hike through the Urubamba River Valley, where you can see Verónica Mountain in all its glory.
  • Visit Llactapata, an old Inka farming city that is now an archaeological site.
  • We got to camp in Wayllabamba, where we'll be surrounded by nature and rest.

Day 2: Wayllabamba to Warmiwañusca to Pacaymayo

Distance: 11 km; Time: 7–8 hours

The highest point is Warmiwañusca Pass, which is 4,215 meters above sea level.

  • The climb to the Warmi Wañusqa Pass, the highest point on the Inka Trail.
  • The views of the Andes and the ecosystem changing to cloud forest are amazing.
  • We will camp in the Pacaymayo Valley, which is surrounded by mountains.

Day 3: From Pacaymayo to Wiñay Wayna

Distance: 15 km; Time: 8 to 9 hours

  • Visit the Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, and the magical Wiñay Wayna complexes for a day full of history and archaeology.
  • Hike through stone tunnels, Inca stairways, and jungles.
  • Last night we camped in Wiñay Wayna, had a farewell dinner, and celebrated as a team.

Includes: all meals, a professional guide, and permit tickets to Machu Picchu.

Day 4: From Wiñay Wayna to Intipunku, then to Machu Picchu and finally to Cusco.

Distance: 5 km | Time: 2 to 3 hours

  • Leave before dawn to go to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for the first view of Machu Picchu at sunrise.
  • A full guided tour of the Inca citadel.
  • Take a bus down to Aguas Calientes and then a train back to Cusco.
